And In the “boring” stint of highway driving from my hotel to the aforementioned back roads, it was hard to think about any driving impressions other than the exploitation of the Air’s deep power reserves. Persuasive PowerĮxpending the electrons is always more satisfying than refilling them, to be clear. Not quite as fast as pumping $7-per-gallon Premium into your tank, but a fair bit cheaper. The resultant peak charging rate of 300 kilowatts (our buddy Tom Moloughney at actually saw a real-world peak rate over 300 kW) allows for adding up to 300 miles of range in just 21 minutes when using a 350 kW DC fast charger. The Air GT uses a 900-volt architecture for its 112-kilowatt hour battery pack, which allows it to refill more quickly than a 400v pack. Yeah, I know, I know, you can fill a gas tank faster than you can fill a battery. The Air GTP sees output raised by just a little less than one GTI to 1,050 hp and 921 lb-ft, with 60 miles crossed in just 2.6 seconds, and range up to 446 miles.įor reference – though the acceleration arguments are done and dusted – a Dodge Challenger Redeye has a theoretical max range of 388.5 miles (EPA rating of 21 miles per gallon Highway x an 18.5-gallon gas tank) and can only creep to 60 in about 4 seconds. Toss an extra $25,000 at the Air GT’s $154,000 starting price and you’ll tack on the not-insignificant Performance modifier. The GT is rated at 819 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque, with a supercar-esque 3.0-second sprint to 60 and a max range of 516 miles. The new Air Grand Touring and Grand Touring Performance models step back from the flagship, but only just. And, arguably the Dream Edition’s EPA estimated range of 520 miles is the most impressive stat. The company’s range-topping Air Dream Edition made waves in Performance spec with its two-motors, 1,111-horsepower, and a sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. Of course, for many enthusiasts of conventionally powered vehicles, it’ll be Lucid’s lurid outputs, not apexes, that get them in the door. That single-minded focus was clear after hours of pre-dinner technology talks with animated engineers and product planners, but how it all translates out on Skyline is nothing short of breathtaking. No fuss, no muss: the kind of efficiency that any enthusiast can appreciate.įrom the density of its powertrain – two compact electric motors making as much as 1,050 horsepower – to the capacity and recharge speed of its batteries, to the cost and reduced complexity of its manufacturing processes, Lucid employees from CEO Peter Rawlinson on down have prioritized efficiency at every step of the game. Point the chromed smile of a front end at the corner apex, roll on the throttle gently, and let tidal wave of torque bring the whole rapid blur of a machine instantly from one moment of fractional bliss to the next. But one of the most pleasant surprises about my first spin in Lucid’s moonshot Air Grand Touring sedan is how well it acquits itself on a curvy road. Though typically the car responsible for bringing me has been a bit trimmer than the Lucid Air Grand Touring’s curb weight of 5,200 pounds, somewhat shorter than its lanky 16.3 feet, and a whole lot louder when darting past recalcitrant CR-Vs and F-150s. I’ve been out here plenty over the years. The undulating ribbon of pavement ripples through the high country south of San Francisco and just east of the Pacific Ocean – a well-known stretch for cyclists, sightseers, and automakers looking to impress with their new vehicle’s handling prowess. Efficiency is the last thing on my mind out on Skyline Blvd.

Pass-Thru is what Loopback calls a virtual device. I’ll explain Loopback to you today, but if you buy it and you want to learn the tool inside and out, my tutorials are a really good way to do that. He left the company in 2014 to pursue his education, but there are also rumors that Pledis Entertainment kicked him out due to dating a fan. Shin Dongjin (born 2000)ĭongjin was the second youngest member of pre-debut SEVENTEEN, and trained with the company from 2013 to 2014. He placed 3rd in the competition, and debuted with the Chinese boy group UNINE. He met SEVENTEEN member The8 for the first time through this program, because The8 didn’t join Pledis until after Mingming had already left. In 2019, he joined Idol Producer and was highly praised due to his strong dancing skills. Like Doyoon, Mingming also auditioned (and participated) in MIXNINE, where he placed 10th and unfortunately didn’t make it into the final line-up. While it’s not totally confirmed, rumors have it that he left Pledis Entertainment because of personal reasons, as well as possible mistreatment by the company, so he went back to China once he left. He’s a great dancer, and was going to be part of the dance line when SEVENTEEN debuted. Mingming came from China to train under Pledis Entertainment between 20. He has starred in several dramas, including The Promise, Drinking Solo, and Sweet Stranger and Me. In 2017, he did try to audition for YG Entertainment‘s idol survival show, MIXNINE, but was rejected. He says he doesn’t regret leaving the group, because acting is what he wanted to do. Before his SEVENTEEN trainee days, he was actually going to be part of a group called Tempest, but when the debut plan didn’t go through, he moved to SEVENTEEN.īefore SEVENTEEN debuted, however, Doyoon left Pledis Entertainment in 2014 in order to pursue acting, which he was more passionate about to begin with. Jang Doyoon (born 1995)ĭoyoon was originally going to be the oldest member of SEVENTEEN, and because of this, potentially the leader. Here’s information about each of those 4 members, why they left, and where they are now. And while that sounds like a legitimate reason and is taken as canon these days, that wasn’t always the case!īack before the group debuted, during the days of 17TV that followed the members pre-debut, they actually had 17 members, 4 of whom left the group during the time before the group’s career started. Whenever SEVENTEEN members are asked why they have 13 members but their name is a different number, they give this reasoning: 13 members + 3 units + 1 team = 17. Player C is tapped out and has no responses to Kiki Jiki. Player B is tapped out with 3 Islands in play and the only spell they can cast is a Pact of Negation in hand. They already have a Restoration Angel in play. Player A has placed Kiki Jiki, Mirror Breaker on the stack. Let’s go over some specific scenarios to help illustrate what I mean. The largest difference between… wait, did I already go over philosophy? Sure enough I did, I figured I would just reiterate here the importance of the distinction. Your opponents won’t give you an inch, so don’t give one to them. In cEDH, you will want to stay up to date on what your friends and playgroups are playing and maintain proper deck configuration as well as optimized answers. Obviously, you will want to come prepared for the usual decks you will encounter no matter what format you play in Magic, but in casual the definition of preparation is a bit looser. Not to say that casual EDH doesn’t concern itself with metagames, but this aspect is far more crucial in Competitive Commander. When you look at a deck list you immediately know what the deck’s intentions are and what they are expecting. One of my favorite aspects about cEDH is the different vibe the format gives off. Frankly, if you are playing 5-6 mana spells and your opponent is playing 1-2 mana spells that counter yours, you are at a competitive disadvantage. This is a function of the format’s speed. For starters, you will see curves that are much leaner and interaction is primarily at instant speed. While you are bound by the same deck construction rules as traditional EDH, the cEDH deck list will often look much different. Everything in the format is and should be viewed through the lens of winning the game. But the focus and crux of the format is the competition and winning. Can there be cool plays? Yes! Can there be epic comebacks and interactions? Of course. Prevent your opponents from winning the game so you can win the game yourself.Where cEDH is concerned, the main principle of the format is to either: The list is almost endless and everyone enjoys EDH for different reasons. Enjoy the political side of Magic and live or die by your alliances and betrayals.Play your favorite cards as an extension of your personality.Create epic stories and sweet comebacks.Having fun with friends to play powerful and fun spells.Always keep an open mind, and you will find yourself a happier person.Īs far as traditional EDH is concerned, the main principles of the format include: Many formats in Magic aren’t for me, but that doesn’t mean that I dislike their existence or those who enjoy them. If you aren’t having fun playing the game, you need to take a step back and find something that reignites your spark. The beautiful part about this game is that there are hundreds of avenues to reach that goal. The philosophy for Magic as a whole is to have fun. But, like most things in life, this format is defined by its differences, not similarities. It doesn’t seem like much, but cEDH actually has a lot in common with traditional, casual Commander. Well, I’ve reached the end of the similarities. Of course, there aren’t house rules either. There is no deviation whatsoever and this includes deck construction as well. cEDH adheres strictly to the mainstream Commander rules laid out by the Rules Committee. Other formats like French EDH/Duel Commander and 1v1 Magic Online Commander have their own rules and ban lists. More common ground between the formats are the rules and ban list. cEDH differs immensely from traditional EDH in its philosophies, but when it comes down to being a game for many players at once, the two are the same. If you only expect to have one other person to play against, I suggest building 1v1 Commander decks instead. Naturally, you can play with 2-3 players, but it really is encouraged to have 4 at the table. First, let’s address the similarities between the two formats.
